I have been given license to sell my Dad's 'vintage' Play Boys. (I haven't gottent to see them yet so I don't actually know what years they are from and therefore how vintage.) I'm also looking to sell my mother's extensive National Geographic collection. I myself have saved a few boxes of old American Girls, Seventeens, and Entertainment Weeklys that I'm hoping have articles about stars that have now hit it big.Are any of these potentially worth enough money that they warrant the time and effort they would take to list and mail? Does anyone have any suggestions? Like would it be better to sell them indivdually or in groups? (Say 1 year of National Geographics together?)I am a completely new seller and am a bit lost on the ins and outs of all this. My mother had a serious stroke and has been in a nursing home for over a year.
We have to move to a house that we can make handicapped assessible for her, and in the process of moving, I'm trying to do what I can - however little - to help the family finances. If someone would give me some pointers or take me under their wing just a tiny bit, I would be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance to anyone that replies! A tip for shipping is if you put the magazines into lots then you can use the priority rate ZONE A boxes which are very nice for protecting them in shipment. Plus $50 insurance is included in the price of priority. You have to order the Zone Boxes on line at the USPS website but they are free. Only get the A and B boxes, Zone C is not worth it.Zone A Box Ships at 2 pound rate up to 15 poundsZone B Box Ships at 4 pound rate up to 20 pounds. These are almost always a much better deal than the flat rate boxes, which I only use it the item is REALLY heavy and smallHope this helps some. Both my parents were in nursing homes/ adult care homes before they passed so my heart goes out to you.I don't know very much about the titles that you mentioned but I have been selling some other mags, mad comics etc.
So I know that another thing that maters on price of any collectible is condition. If you need help judging that for the mags I would be happy give you some pointers. As for price just look at sold listings to see what they went for in the past.Good luck to you.Jenny.
